Questions people ask before downloading
Is InkDeck free?
Yes. InkDeck is free to download, and the free version includes every feature — the handwriting canvas, all five study modes, all six study games, spaced repetition, statistics and iCloud sync. The free plan holds up to 3 flashcard sets with up to 10 cards in each. Unlimited Cards, a one-time in-app purchase, removes those limits.
Is there a subscription or a free trial?
No. There is no subscription and no trial period. Unlimited Cards is a single non-consumable in-app purchase that unlocks on every device signed into your Apple ID and can be restored at any time. If you subscribed under the old pricing, your access carries over permanently.
Can I import decks I already have?
Yes. InkDeck imports comma- and tab-separated files (.csv,
.tsv, .txt), which is the export format Anki, Quizlet
and most other flashcard apps offer. You can export your own sets, topics or
groups as .inkdeck files to share or back up, or back out to CSV.
Does it work with Apple Pencil?
Yes. Every card is a full drawing canvas with pressure-sensitive strokes and Apple Pencil hover. You can also write with your finger, or mix handwriting and typed text on the same card.
Do my flashcards sync between iPhone, iPad and Mac?
Yes. Decks sync automatically through your own private iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit, so you can start a review on iPhone and finish it on iPad or Mac. The developer cannot access anything in your iCloud container — see the privacy policy.
Which study modes are included?
Five: standard review with spaced repetition, quiz mode with four-choice questions, typing mode with fuzzy answer matching, match mode for pairing terms, and cloze deletion for fill-in-the-blank practice.
What study games are included?
Six, all built into the free app: Card Shooter (tap falling answer cards), Pair Hunt (memory-match terms to meanings), Word Forge (spell from a letter tray), Deckle (guess the term in six tries), Letter Trail (trace answers in a letter grid) and Balloon Pop (pop the balloon with the right definition). Every game uses the flashcards you already wrote.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up and no account. Your cards live on your device and, if you enable iCloud, in your own iCloud account.
